Giving Back to the community

At Tenacity, we have various Corporate Social Investment initiatives where we show our support not only to our community but to the broader South Africa. We are passionate about our community and actively participate annually in various foundations/initiatives.

Foundations/initiatives we support:
  • uMephi Children's homes

Within the uMephi Foundation, we support Rock-a-Bye-Baby, a safe haven for abandoned babies up to two years old, and a foster home for bigger children.

We help serve their needs for basic goods through regular donations of items such as infant supplies, nappies, food, clothing and toiletries. In 2021 financial contributions which formed part of our Mandela Day initiative, enabled Rock a Bye baby to build a new kitchen and install a new floor at the foster home.

  • SAME Foundation

The S.A Medical and Education Foundation support healthcare and education departments in the Western Cape, Eastern Cape, Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal. Their sole aim is to improve healthcare and educational facilities in poverty-stricken communities.

In the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic, financial donations from Tenacity enabled the Foundation to purchase several hospital beds for Intensive Care Units and so help look after these communities' most vulnerable people.

  • Blood Donation

Donating blood gives the gift of life as each donation can save up to three people. Tenacity employees are committed to saving lives by donating blood regularly. The Western Province Blood Donation Services comes to Tenacity every second month during which we have approximately 50+ successfully collected blood donations.

  • 67 Minutes for Mandela

Mandela Day is a global call for action that celebrates the idea that each individual has the power to transform the world, the ability to make an impact. Every year our employees participate in 67 minutes for Mandela Day with various fundraising initiatives such as donating toiletries and sandwiches to shelters in and around Kuils River and donating baby essentials to foster care homes and charities chosen by our employees.
